An update from the Capel Salem crew
If you’ve found your way here, you’re probably one of the fabulous people who’ve cheered Keith and Marj on since day one… through dust, dry rot and the pigeon poop, and you’re looking for when the new series will be on on TV. The simple truth is, we don’t know yet, but we’ll keep this page fresh while we wait for Channel 4 to set the UK broadcast date for the next run. Filming is done, and the plan is for the new series to air in 2026. As soon as the channel presses “go”, we’ll put the date right here.
Series 3 (2026): what we can say without spoiling the fun
We’re not going to be giving you any spoilers – mainly because we don’t know what made the edits. So we’re like you, and just sitting on our hands until the broadcaster announces the schedule dates.
Series 3 wrapped recently, it’s in the can, with loads of lovely moments from the transformation work at Capel Salem & talented craftspeople that we think you’ll love as much as we did. But we don’t know exactly what will be in the broadcast version, or when it will it happen… yet.
While we’re keeping spoilers on a tight leash, we can say that filming overlapped with Keith’s 60th Birthday, it was quite a bash, and the crew were there, filming part of it as the rest of us partied. So expect some celebratory moments to pop-up in the show.
Keith’s 60th birthday celebration took place at the chapel, and was attended by friends and family. We have no idea how much (if any) of the party footage will be usable or make the edit, but Keith sang, Marj sang, and there were fabulous performers – hopefully, you’ll see some in the show.
While were here, we’ll give a shout-out & a thank you to to the people who provided the food & drink for night, and helped make the night special. There were artisan spirits from Cariad Gin (their Marmalade & Bayleaf vodka with ginger ale was fantastic), there were artisan beers from Cwrw Tŷ Mo, copious amounts of wine from Gwinllan Llwynhudol vineyard (which means magical grove in Welsh), plus food by Colin Gray. Pretty sure those aren’t spoilers.
Here’s a little bit more info local press snippet. Keith & Marj try to keep folks up to date on their socials so be sure to give them a follow on Instagram or Facebook.

In the meantime, if you’re curious, here are a couple of posts from filming: an update from the studio hall and a short video message).

A Recap…. Previously on Our Welsh Chapel Dream (Series 1 and 2)
Series 1 (first shown May 2024)
The debut run opened the chapel doors to you and to several hundred pigeons who had taken up residence. Those early weeks were pure “what on earth have we done?” telly: safety first, then momentum. The official page at Channel 4 lists the transmissions. The opener arrived on 5 May 2024, with the second episode also first shown that same day. A week later, 12 May brought the big clear-out: pews up, parquet lifted, pulpit negotiated. And on 20 May the now-famous container bedroom rolled into the car park so the work could continue around somewhere vaguely sleepable. Keith marked the last episode on his social media post.
A bit more…
Episode one is the “doors open, pigeons included” moment; episode two starts the real graft – ripping out rot and pitching the plan to the neighbours; episode three is the day the building could finally breathe; episode four is the container-bedroom caper that allowed Keith and Marj live on site without derailing the build. You’ll find those episode cards on the broadcaster’s page.
Series 2 (April 2025 at 8pm)
First episode of series 2 was broadcast on April fools day 2025… somebody at Channel 4 obviously has a sense of humour.
The second run shifted the action into the Sunday School, turning “camping with ambition” into a genuine home-base so the grander spaces could follow, from 1st April 2025 to 22 April 2025.
How those four weeks feel, without spoilers
The fungus fight comes first. Then comfort: a snug downstairs, a proper parlour bathroom with a nod to the Victorian character, and a bedroom to make the whole space liveable. Industry previews captured that rhythm neatly (TV Zone’s write-up), and yes, the kettle worked overtime.

FAQs (short and sweet)
When will the new series air in the UK?
We’re waiting for the broadcaster to confirm the dates for when series 3 will be broadcast in the UK but, based on previous years, we’d guess around April / May 2026. Filming is complete, and we’ll update this page as soon as it’s official. In the meantime you want to catch-up on earlier episodes in the on Channel 4.
How many episodes will there be?
The first two runs were both edited down to four, hour-long instalments (see the programme hub for series one & series two). Channel 4 will confirm the new episode count nearer the broadcast time.
