Duchess China 1888 are one of the last remaining fine bone china manufacturers in the United Kingdom, based in Stoke-on-Trent – the traditional home of British pottery.
For over 135 years they have produced exceptional ceramics entirely within the UK, working with well-known names including The Royal Collection Trust, Harrods, Fortnum & Mason, and the House of Commons.
When Keith began looking for a partner to bring the Capel Salem collection to life, Duchess China was the choice that felt right. Not just because it was the obvious route, but because their values align with everything this project stands for: craft over convenience, quality over quantity, and a deep respect for the stories that objects can carry.
Duchess China’s manufacturing process, from raw clay to finished piece, is handled entirely in-house in Staffordshire. Their skills are generational. Their standards are uncompromising. And their commitment to making things properly, in Britain, by hand, with care, mirrors the spirit with which Capel Salem itself was built.
